Dedicated to safeguarding the memories of the beloved summer camp by preserving its buildings and artifacts and sharing the stories of the camp experience with current and future generations.

BEFORE THE TREES WERE CLEARED, BEFORE THE ROADS WERE PAVED, and long before the electrification of Shannon County, visionary St. Louis County school teachers Russell S. (Mac) and Margaret Boggs McMahan made the trek to this enchanted property and founded a summer youth camp in 1929. Naming it for Margaret’s mother, they called it Camp Zoe.
